One of the Ten Best Documentaries of 2009
Roger Ebert just named his Ten Best Documentaries of the year, and “What’s the Matter with Kansas?” made the list! Of course all of us who made the movie are thrilled and honored. (His original review is here.) Ebert is quick to note, though, that like a lot of his favorite docs, very few people have seen ours yet:

Some fine Oklahoma hospitality
So Joe and Tom have returned from Oklahoma and unpacked our bags, after a very rewarding visit (at this point, Laura is too pregnant for travel.) Neither of us had ever been to Oklahoma before, and Steve Hunt and David Glover, the activists who got the ball rolling, made sure we had everything we needed. A huge hat tip to Casey Davis, who sold merchandise for us Friday night, then the next day drove us all the way from Tulsa to Oklahoma City and around OKC. Volunteers Needed to Videotape Chicago Q&A’s
“What’s the Matter with Kansas?” is looking for volunteer(s) to videotape the Q & A sessions (sure to be lively) featuring Thomas Frank and the filmmakers. The Q & A’s will take place after two of the screenings at the Gene Siskel Film Center.

Reflecting on our Lincoln Center debut
Last Thursday “What’s the Matter with Kansas?” enjoyed its World Premiere screening at Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York. It’s taken this long for Laura and Joe and Milo to return home (okay, so we had some fun over the weekend running around Manhattan and taking in museums, etc.) and recover enough energy to properly reflect on a very exciting evening for us.
