Filmmakers will speak at IFP/Chicago Producers’ Series Sunday, May 2

Filmmakers Laura Cohen and Joe Winston will speak at the 2010 IFP/Chicago Producers’ Series, where they’ll relate their adventures making and marketing What’s the Matter with Kansas?

The Producers’ Series is an annual intensive workshop for professional and  emerging filmmakers to learn about how to actually get projects made and sold.  We attend every year and have reaped great benefits – plus, it’s an enjoyable venue for meeting other filmmakers.

Other participants include:  Patricia Aufderheide (American University), Brian Newman (Tribeca Film Institute), Robert Fernandez (Moxie Pictures), Gordon Quinn (Kartemquin Films), Lance Weiler (Workbook Project), filmmaker Alicia Sams, and Sheila Leddy (Fledgling Fund.)

This year’s theme is “The Changing Face of Media,” how filmmakers are adjusting to shifting sands of a fast-changing marketplace for independent film.
