Paul Ibbetson – only one shower required after watching our movie
Radio host and former Cherryvale, Kansas police chief Paul A. Ibbetson finally got a look at the movie “What’s the Matter with Kansas?” a few weeks after publishing a lengthy diatribe against it which invoked both Michael Moore and Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.

Can liberals and conservatives enjoy the same movie?
Our film adaptation of Thomas Frank’s “What’s the Matter with Kansas?” raises eyebrows with some fans of the book, because it does not set out to explain the whole argument Frank makes about why social conservatives overwhelmingly vote Republican (even last fall, in the face of economic disaster.)
Some fine Oklahoma hospitality
So Joe and Tom have returned from Oklahoma and unpacked our bags, after a very rewarding visit (at this point, Laura is too pregnant for travel.) Neither of us had ever been to Oklahoma before, and Steve Hunt and David Glover, the activists who got the ball rolling, made sure we had everything we needed. A huge hat tip to Casey Davis, who sold merchandise for us Friday night, then the next day drove us all the way from Tulsa to Oklahoma City and around OKC. The OK Gazette has weighed in on “What’s the Matter with Kansas?” in advance of our screenings and appearances in Tulsa on Friday and Oklahoma City on Saturday. After playing to big-city crowds in Washington, D.C., New York and Chicago, we’re eager to hear from audiences in the heartland. This reviewer clearly takes the idea that “something is the matter” quite seriously:
